MUSK JUST FIRED YET ANOTHER BUNCH OF TESLA WORKERS

After weeks of ruthless layoffs, the EV maker has sent out yet another round of notices over the weekend, Business Insider reports. This makes it amply clear that Tesla’s existing staff is still on the chopping block. That’s after the company had already endured two rounds of brutal layoffs by virtue of Musk over the last four weeks, which had already impacted an estimated 20 percent of the workforce. Now even more workers are being fired, with many posting about their terminationon social media, as per the report.

“After watching my team gradually slimmed down week after week since mid-April, I received the dreaded ‘Hello Employee’ email this Sunday afternoon,” one Tesla worker wrote on LinkedIn. Morale must be at the lowest now that entire departments have been evaporated under Musk’s leadership.”I keep waiting for Elon to send another email and tell us they’re finally done firing people,” one worker told BI on condition of anonymity. “We need some level of closure or a sign that we can stop worrying about losing our jobs.”

Last week, news came that Musk had laid off senior director of EV charging Rebecca Tinucci, together with her 500-person-strong team. The dissolution of the Tesla’s Supercharger team couldn’t have happened at a worse time, given the EVmaker’s charging standard is being adopted by a long list of other carmakers in North America. Many buyers also expressed their discontent, citing Superchargers as the chief reason they bought a Tesla in the first place.Several other important executives have also meanwhile left the company.

Tesla is already staring at a potentially disastrous financial year: sales have dipped and the company’s reputation has tanked, in large part due to the CEO’s own demeanor. In the meantime, Tesla’s competitors are fast catching up.In his email message to executives last week, Musk cautioned that they had to become “absolutely hard core about headcount.”Musk had been already infamous for cracking the whip at Tesla — and with a significantly reduced headcount, those who remain at the company will possibly have an even tougher job in the coming months.

Tesla CEO’s insensitive termination strategy is being condemned by former employees and netizens. His ‘insensitive’ termination mail to employees stating, ‘Your last working day is today’, has gone viral. As the bloodbath goes on unhindered at one of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk’s company Tesla, his past employees are now sharing their experiences of how their relationship with the company was snapped with a single mail.
